| What have you done for your marriage lately? "The Catholic community believes marriage happens with the help of the Lord and is a relationship that parallels the love of Christ for his people. It is a lifelong commitment to one other person and a dwelling place of God's spirit. Christian marriage is a demanding vocation that needs the support and encouragement of the entire community."

Weddings |
| The joyous celebration of the bond of love in marriage is a special event at our parish. Because of the preparation involved, it is important that you contact the parish office at least six months prior to the desired date. It is extremely important that you schedule the date with the church before making plans for your reception.
|
Preparation
At least six months is necessary to complete the requirements for marriage at St. Joseph. This allows you to meet with the priest as necessary, complete the paperwork, participate in a PreCana workshop, plan the ceremony, and be sure that there are no stumbling blocks on the road to a happy sacramental marriage.
The No-Zone
Because of the penitential nature of the seasons of advent (the four weeks before Christmas) and lent (the forty days before Easter), the Church encourages us to avoid weddings during these weeks of the year. Here at St. Joseph we are very cautious not to schedule weddings at this time. Weddings normally take place on Saturdays at 3:00 PM. We have been known to do a Friday wedding or two.
